A book length publication on methods of prolotherapy was just published in late 2008 by three very capable and talented physicians.  For more information on how to get that book, click here to view the brochure.

Principles of Prolotherapy Brochure 2008.pdf

To Patients:  If you want to visualize the basic techniques in regenerative injection therapy, the textbook to the left is a reasonable place to look.   The reference is  Reeves KD Prolotherapy: Basic Science, Clinical Studies, and Technique. In Lennard TA(Ed). Pain Procedures in Clinical Practice. (2nd Ed.) Philadelphia; Hanley and Belfus;2000:172-190.   This is rather technical so be sure you read the biomechanics article first and do keep in mind that the injections you see are performed under conscious sedation so are very well tolerated.  If you do not like the sight of needles at all, it may be best not to review this chapter.   ProloChap2000.pdf

Another chapter was released in  a 2007 two volume pain management text.  We expect this text to be in common use and the reference is  Reeves KD. Prolotherapy:Regenerative Injection Therapy. In: Waldman SD (ed): Pain Management. Philadelphia; Saunders (Elsevier); 2007; pg 1106-1127 pictures are a bit too graphic for me to put on this web site for the general public with children that may click unawares.   However, if you click on  Pain Management 2007.doc   you will find the text of the chapter to read.

For Physicians:  The 2007 text by Waldman is a better resouce for methods in prolotherapy.  Please email me if you want a pdf of that illustrated chapter.  I will be glad to send it to you but did not consider it appropriate to include it on this site.

Best regards,     Dr. Reeves
